Adaptive Building Reuse

In March 2004, BCA was commission by the Town of Cicero to complete a Facility Master Plan for the Senior Services Center located at 5631 West 35th Street in Cicero, Illinois. The study was to establish a roadmap for the community in the adaptive reuse of a former hardware store.

After Construction

After the construction documents were completed, BCA produced several interior computer renderings as well as a walk-through animation. These helped to accurately convey to the client the bold use of colors and materials that BCA's interior design staff had selected.

The existing one-story slab-on-grade facility now contains a vestibule, entry, kitchenette, multipurpose space, library, crafts area, office, restrooms, and storage. The remodeling included mechanical, electrical, plumbing, interior construction improvements, re-roofing, and demolition.

Site improvements included parking areas, entry canopy, paved walkways, landscaping, site furniture and utility improvements.
