Prairie Meadow Park
West Dundee, IL

Prairie Meadow Community Park consisted of a large natural wetland area along with flood plain and previously farmed land, that has been improved with park amenities. The natural wetland is preserved with only a nature path system encroaching into it. A picnic shelter with concession/restroom facilities serves the passive portion of the park.

The active recreation space includes a basketball court, ball fields, soccer fields, and a multi-purpose rink with dasher boards used for in-line skating and ice hockey. This project was largely made possible by funding through the Open Space Lands Acquisition & Development Grant Program with the State of Illinois Department of Natural Resources. BCA assisted with this grant application.
